Food Myths: Yes, this is a myth that has now been proven incorrect. Your stomach and small intestine break down the food you eat into sugars, proteins, and fats. Your liver does not see 'cholesterol' from dietary intake. It sees proteins, sugars and fats. Thus eating cholesterol does not have much bearing on your own cholesterol counts.
