Perio Protect: The perio protect system uses custom trays with a peroxide gel. It's quite effective.

Xylitol plus: In addition to xylitol (which actually i'd have as an adjunct therapy ) my mainstay would be brushing 3x daily for 2 minutes each time, once daily flossing, and rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash 2x daily fit 39 seconds each time. You may also consider oral dna testing to determine the specific periodontal pathogens and than undergo systemic antibiotics therapy to irradiate them. Good luck!

perioprotect: Perioprotect is for periodontal disease and if you are at the periodontist then you have at the best a history of issues with periodontal disease. The benefits of xylitol are more with cavities.

Why not both: There is no reason not to use both of these products. Perioprotect is used to reduce gingivitis. Xylitol is used to reduce tooth decay. They are not mutually exclusive.
