YES: Xylitol sweetners actually starve the oral bacteria. If you are not a grinder (in which case chewing gum is not recommended), then chewing gum will not only increase your salivary flow (great for those with dry mouth), but also starve the bacteria in your mouth.

Yes!: Chewing gum with xylitol has a proven cavity fighting ability! it is disruptive to the bacteria that cause dental disease! so it is actually a good thing to chew gum with xylitol! chew on!
