ABS-solutely!: Yes, it's a powerful procedure that removes the extra loose skin, and tightens the muscle. Patients report a very high satisfaction rating with the procedure.

Yes.: It can be a very powerful operation. It's for those folks with extra skin and soft tissue. Many who have lost weight and have extra skin want the excess taken away. Some just want to fit into pants better. The abdominal muscles may also have spread out with pregnancy or just over time. The plication sews them back together. This flattens the tummy. Depends on Goals: What is it that you want to "work"? If you wish to reduce the size of your abdomen, have extra fat and skin around and below your belly button and want to have it removed, yes, it will "work." it does not change your metabolism, cause ongoing weight loss (just the tissue cut out); or tone/tighten loose underlying belly muscles. See a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals & chance of getting it.

Absolutely: In a patient who is close to their ideal body weight and in good physical condition with a rectus muscle diastasis and pronounced skin laxity, the tummy tuck can produce outstanding results that are greatly appreciated by the patients undergoing these procedures. Surgery is not without risk and one must carefully consider the risks, alternatives and benefits of any procedure.

Yes: The tummy tuck operation is a great operation to remove excess skin/adipose tissue of the abdominal wall. The “ideal” patient for tummy tuck surgery is one who has completed pregnancies, is psycho socially/emotionally/financially stable, has an excellent social support system surrounding him/her, is capable of arranging enough recovery time and who has reached a long-term stable weight.

Yes it can: A tummy tuck is the most effective way to tighten your stomach area and remove excess hanging skin. While it's important to have realistic expectations, I can tell you that this procedure tends to have a high satisfaction rate. See below: A tummy tuck does two basic things. It removes the excess skin on your abdomen and it tightens up abdominal wall (fascia) laxity (both usually caused by pregnancy) the skin below the belly button is removed, the abdominal wall is tightened using sutures, and the skin above the belly button is stretched out to cover the area below the belly button where the skin was removed.

Tighten and tone: There are three things you can't do with exercise and diet alone: tighten loose skin, repair a muscle separation after pregnancy, and remove localized fat. A tummy tuck removes the skin between the belly button and the pubic area, re-aligns separated muscles if necessary, and removes localized fat if needed. The skin of the upper abdomen is then stretched down to cover where it was removed.

Extra skin: With multiple or larger or twin pregnancies, skin and muscle can stretch and be unable to regain their pre pregnancy form. A tummy tuck is designed to excise the redundant skin and fat and to tighten and reposition the muscles of the abdominal wall.

TIghtening: The excess skin is removed and the muscles (rectus) are brought back together in the midline. This creates a flat, firm abdomen.

Varies: Most have the skin and fat between the belly button and pubis all the way across the front of the abdomen removed then the 6 pack (rectus) muscles are tightened with stitches, the upper abdominal skin is stretched done to cover the entire abdomen while making a new opening for the belly button. thus, there is one long transverse scar along the lower abdomen and one around the belly button

Simple Description: The rectus abdominis muscle is the vertical muscle in the middle of your abdomen. If your rectus abdominis muscles are separated, a repair of the muscle tightens that gap by stitching it together. It functions much the same as how shoe laces work in a shoe. http://www.cosmeticsurg.net/procedures/tummy-tuck/
