No spots w/good O.H.: The white spots are actually areas of decalcification in the enamel. The initial stages of a "cavity" that develop anywhere plaque has been allowed to accumulate for an extended time. As long as a patient practices excellent brushing and flossing, it is highly unlikely that any white spots (decalcification) will develop. In addition, it is beneficial to also limit sugar and starches in the diet.
