Body eats up carbs!: When drinking protein shakes to lose weight, the basic principle behind all of this, regardless of the shake used, is that you are forcing your body to take carbohydrate and fat stores in your body to use as energy. Carbohydrates and fat are the first sources of energy your body will use. By decreasing the availability of them to your body, it will rely on more protein which will decrease weight.
