Pain in palate: Perhaps the pain is coming from something other than the impacted teeth. Have you seen your dentist for an examination? The pain may be coming from an infected tooth or infected gums. Also a visit to your physician or ENT specialist to see about a possible sinus infection.

Tough one: The oms's you have seen may be concerned that the surgery you need cause more damage than the cyst/impacted tooth are currently causing. Or, they may feel your discomfort is not coming from the cyst/impacted tooth. You may want to try to go to your closest university oms training program where you might be able to treatment.

What are the causes?: Usually i always trust the oral surgeon since they know best about dentigerous cyst. You should ask them about the cause of the pain in the palatal gum. There must be an explanation given somewhere in the consultation. It would be very odd if there wasn't any thoughts given.
