How severe : Sometimes it really depends on the level of anxiety you're experiencing. Not all anxiety needs to be treated. Some anxiety could be a normal response to a life situation or other.
Some mild to moderate forms of anxiety might respond well to yoga or breathing exercises. More severe forms may respond to therapy whether it is psychodynamic or cbt. And then of course there are medications that we use.

Anxiety: Talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity is optimal in a green space. Eat healthfully. Cut out junk carbs, caffeine ; alcohol (or moderate). There a # of ways to address anxiety: cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, psychotropic medications, qi gong, tai.

First try relaxation: Relaxation techniques, meditation, deep breathing, learning to stop negative thoughts are first-line do-it-yourself helpful approaches. You may need help learning these from a therapist, or a chance to talk about what is causing it. There are anti-anxiety medicines that can help, but usually best when paired with talking and/or cognitive behavioral therapy.
