Recurrent outbreaks often are especially common in the first few weeks or months after a new HSV infection. Most likely this will settle down; most oral herpes recurs no more often than once or twice a year. If an outbreak was not tested to confirm virus type -- usually HSV1 for oral herpes -- do it now. If your infection is caused by HSV2, outbreaks might be more frequent. Good luck.
