My doctor told me today i can can hold off on nephrology and continue to hydrate. my creatinine is 1.53 and my egfr is 59 last time they it was creatinine 1.59 and egfr 56. i am so confused if i should follow my doctors advice and hold off?

Impaired renal function due to volume depletion is not likely with those results. I could be wrong because you did not provide medical history, urinalysis and kidney ultrasound results. Did the give his/ her reasons for the decision? It is always good to ask why, what , when etc of any doc. So if you have faith in your doc try the hydration and repeat test. no great damage will occur in a week or so . Good luck
