Impaired renal function due to volume depletion is not likely with those results. I could be wrong because you did not provide medical history, urinalysis and kidney ultrasound results. If either UA or US is abnormal, then you definitely need to see a kidney specialist. Kidney ultrasound is a must if it has not been done. You can get back to us if you've other info, take care.

Did the give his/ her reasons for the decision? It is always good to ask why, what , when etc of any doc. So if you have faith in your doc try the hydration and repeat test. no great damage will occur in a week or so . Good luck
