My power chain snapped on my lower first molar after getting my pre-molars pulled, leaving two dangling circles. i can't reach my orthodontist until friday due to the holiday. can i cut off the snapped part myself or is it risky?

It is risky. I know having anything hanging off your teeth is irritating but it is best to wait until a skilled operator can corect the problem. That by now must a\have been accomplished.. Best wishes.

It's trickier than you think. You will be working backwards in a mirror with implements not designed to accomplish your goals. Better to wait. But if you can't stand the little annoyance, just be very careful. And call the Orthodontist's office now. If you call now and leave a message you will be first on the call-back list.
