Surgical Extraction: Your swelling should subside within a few days. Since everyone heals a bit differently, your wound may take longer.

Surgery: As with any surgery, swelling is part of the healing process. Swelling should begin to ease off 36-72 hours after the surgery. There may be information to this effect in the written material the Surgeon provided you with before you left the office. If you have any concerns about healing call the Surgeon's office. He/she's the professional that knows you best.

It depends: It is hard to say when the swelling will really dissipate depending on the extend of the surgery and your body’s response. In general a few days to a week. But, It is important to keep icing it and taking your medications as directed. In general, you should be seeing your surgeon for a follow up, it does not hurt to call the surgeon to ask his or her opinion. Take it easy, and you should be Ok.
