Previously posted but wanted to ask another similar question. can a ct scan miss appendicitis? er said no appendicitis. blood work and urine sample clear. still having sharp pain on lower right side. anxious. what to do?

CT scan is very sensitive in detecting acute appendicitis but no medical test has 100% sensitivity. In your case, normal blood test and negative CT scan +/- physical exam rule out appendicitis then you should not worry at all. Take care.

Went to ER Sat for lower right side pain. My CT showed a hernia but no appendicitis. BW and urine also clear. Sharp pain when I move but it got a little better. My PCP said they shouldve referred me to general surgeon. Is a hernia an emergency?
