An EKG is a good test for showing heart rhythm and heart conduction abnormalities. It is doubtful that you will find an abnormality that would prevent you from being able to travel, unless you do the EKG at a time when you were having significant cardiac symptoms. if it is just a routine EKG, I would not worry about it. good luck.

Different things. You are having the ekg for diagnostic reasons, not for clearance for travel, not required as such. Arrhythmias or irregular heart rhythms can be incidentally found and might need to be addressed, otherwise an abnormal ekg is not a contraindication for travel per se.

In giving an OK for significant travel, especially overseas, we quiz& examine the patient to determine whether there are any signs or symptoms that could indicate medical problems that may arise during travel. The screening EKG is to look for signs of old damage or current silent cardiac rhythm abnormalites such as multiple premature beats, AV block,Atrial fibrillation, for etc. Get medical insur
