I presume he is already being treated. Stents are tubes placed in the ureter(tube bringing urine down to the bladder from the kidneys) when they are obstructed by internal or external obstruction. Also a tube or tubes can be placed in the kidneys from the side to relieve obstruction (nephrostomy). I hope your grandpa does well
