Get 2nd opinion: & be supportive. Have another oncologist review his case and results to be certain there is not suppressant or other chemo option(s) available. Either way, be there for him and with him to enjoy your time together while it lasts--you have advantage of knowing his will be shorter.Learn his wishes regarding end of life issues.

Comfort him,,,: If he is at this point in his course of this disease, likely it is best to comfort him. If he is in pain, pain-killing medicine like morphine might be used to stop it. Having him kept clean also helps. Strontium-89 might be used if there is bone pain due to metastasis. It also may be good to go out there and see him if you can, as he might like a visit from family. Best of luck.

A lot is left : Unsaid in your question. There are also cultural differences as well as access to drugs. Even advanced prostate has very active prospects: anti-androgen, from orchiectomy to pharma, testosterone receptor blockers, XRT for pain, and alphradon. Perhaps cure is out, but comfort and care is in anyplace on the planet.
