A member asked:

Good afternoon doctors. what does it mean if my urine cytology report says, negative for urothelial carcinoma. urothelial cells and squamous cells are present. do these statements rule out cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A negative urine cytology is strong evidence against urinary tract malignancy. If your urine contains red blood cells, I'd also like to see a negative ultrasound of kidneys& urinary bladder to exclude other growths and stones.
