42y/o female. rbc 11-30 occult blood +2a in urine. consistently having hematuira in urine for 10+ years. recently had cystoscopy and ultrasound of kidneys. all is fine. i want to find the root cause, but pcp and urologist say im fine. any ideas?

If the kidneys and ureter were also investigated for things like stone. cyst, tumor, and blood abnormalities then you need a close follow up. If they were not then they should be. good luck

Isolated microscopic hematuria is an interesting & controversial topic in nephrology. If an immediate family member also has this condition, you have a condition called THIN GLOMERULAR BASEMENT MEMBRANE DISEASE, only diagnosed by kidney biopsy. A % of microscopic hematuria case may develop IgA nephropathy later on. At least, urologic causes of hematuria such as stone, popyp, cancer are ruled out.
