In 40s, non-smoker, 2-5 rbc on nearly all uas x yrs (not related to menstruation). otherwise normal urine. no gross hematuria. normal ct and renal us. no symptoms. any idea why urologist recommended cystoscopy? aren't i low risk and likely no issue?

Non-serious conditio: A few red cells in urine without proteinuria of long period suggests you are likely to have pretty benign condition, e.g., benign familial hematuria or idiopathic hypercalciuria. I would advise a consult with nephrologist instead.
