Been on omeprazole 20mg 1/day for 5 months fir esophagitis. in last 4 weeks, i have had 4 severe episodes of stomach pain, cheat pain, back pain, chills, etc could it be the omeprazole? its so severe, i cant sleep. went to er first time?

It is not likely that omeprazole would cause pain like you are describing. It is possible that you have esophagitis that is not well controlled, which could cause pain such as this. There are, however, multiple other possible causes, and if they persist, you should return to the emergency room or see your primary doctor or your G.I. doctor for further evaluation. Good luck.

It is not likely that your symptoms are side effects to Omeprazole and/or related to simple reflux esophagitis. A comprehensive evaluation will be needed, including imaging, best to be coordinated by your general practitioner or gastroenterologist, time will be of essence.
