I have no experience with this bacterium, but my reading states it can lead to very serious illness. You've read about Lemierre syndrome. See an ENT specialist ASAP as you're exhibiting throat symptoms. If you can't see one now, proceed to the ER to get prompt care. Be sure to mention Lemierre syndrome as most physicians have no experience with it. Don't let your throat infection go untreated now.
