In the past, fusobacterium spp in stool is considered a part of normal human flora but if the culture result or by PCR test is high, inflammatory bowel disease may be present. There is some link evidence between these bacteria and colon cancer but you are probably too young for this condition. The current consensus is that Fusobacterium should always be treated as a pathogen.
