A member asked:

Does walking around barefoot cause the arch to weaken causing electric tingle and pain in the foot?

You can develop arch pain with or without shoes. If you feel better in shoes with a slight arch support (ruining shoes) then you could be experiencing “ fallen arches”. But many people can have arch pain without a “ fallen arch.” It could be a stain on the plantar fascia, arch. If further concerns recommend seeing a podiatrist

Wear and tear over time can result in numerous inflammatory and structural problems in the ankles and feet. A podiatrist could sort this out. Electrical sensations often indicate peripheral nerve pathology, and consideration for such entities as tarsal tunnel syndrome might be included.
