Gravity.: Minimal swelling and no bruising are certainly good signs. Elevation and ice may still be needed for a day more. As long as the pain is minimal and getting around is not a problem, you may have missed a potentially serious injury. To remove all doubt, have your foot examined.

Varies: If you are asking whether or not you should be seen, it is hard to answer without more info. If you can bear weight on the foot and the pain is minimal, it is likely reasonably safe to give it a few days to see how it does. If any question, I would not hesitate to be seen to make sure you did not sustain a fracture.
