My doctor is making me get a head and neck ct scan with contrast, i have thyroidits/subclinical hyperthyroidism/diffusely enlarged thyroid. is iodine contrast safe for me? my doctor says i have to have the iodine contrast. please help?

It can be done if the contrast use is absolutely indicated and your thyroid status should be rechecked in 2,3 weeks or sooner if you have symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. MRI with or without contrast can be an alternative option, have you discussed with your doctor and radiologist?
