A member asked:

My drs. say i have to get a ct scan with iodine contrast, i am very scared that this will cause thyroid problems. i have subclinical hyperthyroidism and not on any treatment, it is waiting and watch currently. i am afraid it will cause serious issues?

Iodinated contrast exposure doesn't affect thyroid tests in people with a normal thyroid but you're correct in being concerned that your exposure could aggravate your subclinical hyperthyroidism. A thyroidologist or endocrinologist is best to advise you about this matter.
