Age 59 male lipid profile : tg 162 mg/dl, hdl 47 mg/dl, ldl 147 mg/dl, cholesterol (cho oxidase) serum 226 mg/dl .. should i take statin to lower my lipid profile. if yes, how much? is this bad reading ? thanks ?

You would need a prescription for Statin. You may not need statin if you could improve your health through diet and exercise. One should be treating a person not laboratory values. It would be prudent to see a doctor for an assessment and management of your treatment. Wish you good health!
