Had a transvaginal ultrasound and an mri rectum 2 weeks apart (unrelated issues). transvaginal noted a small simple cyst. mri of the rectum called the cyst complex (2.5cm). gyno just wants to follow. is a complex cyst concerning. why the difference?

Complex cyst does not mean malignant. If either imaging modality calls a cyst as complex, a follow up vaginal ultrasound should be done in 3 months just for the benefit of the doubt. However, in the mean time you should not lose your sleep with this finding.
