This is consistent with iron deficiency anemia. In women, it's most commonly caused by heavy menses, and hormonal contraception can correct it. Other causes of occult bleeding can arise from gastric ulcers and from the intestines. If severely symptomatic, I refer my patients to get IV Iron infusions. Otherwise, oral iron supplements will take time to correct the deficiency.

Iron deficient anemia appears likely and iron replacement is usually needed as well as work up based on history. None urgent, being established and following with a primary care doc will be needed in the long run.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, you have iron deficiency anemia. It is not urgent. Take oral iron and multivitamins while you are waiting to see your doctor again. Wish you good health!
