A member asked:

My lab work my mch and mcv low normal mchc? what does it mean mch 24.9 mcv 77.0 everything else normal but rbc 5.62 hemoglobin and reticuloyte normal iron 60 saturation 20 ferritin 31?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

My initial thought is you have a genetic variant that causes you to make smaller red cells which to equate to normal body needs would be a higher number per unit of measure. Please discuss this possibility with your doc. In most cases it has no importance to your health beyond the novelty of being different.
