A member asked:

Will i need surgery for an interstitial tear of the distal patellar tendon, measuring 1.4 cm proximal-distal by 0.5 cm medial-lateral? what is recovery like if so?

I don't know about your particular surgical procedure, but it takes a few weeks after patella tendon surgery, in general, to walk normally and 6-12 months to be able to participate in sports. Your orthopedic surgeon, who knows your status, is best to answer your question.
