I assume you've had outpatient cardiac monitoring which identified the rhythm as sinus tachycardia. Inappropriate sinus tachycardia is probably caused by a disorder of the SA node which is the natural pacemaker of the heart. Another possibility is that your SA node is oversensitive to some adrenaline which may be released when you assume the supine position of getting to sleep. ?Beta blockers help
