A member asked:

What is the difference between a kidney lesion and kidney mass? where exactly does a cyst fall into these 2 categories? 6mm low density lesion here identified by ct scan with contrast and am freaking out. dont want to die from this?

A kidney lesion can be a simple cyst, complex cyst or a mass. Your lesion is characterized as low density 6 mm lesion by CT with contrast so it is likely a cyst. If needed, renal ultrasound can confirm that but I doubt the necessity.
