A member asked:

What is the difference between a kidney lesion and kidney mass? 4-6mm low density lesion here identified by ct scan with contrast and am worried and scared?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, mass and lesion are the same. The small size of the lesion more or less rules out a cancer. Wish you good health!
