Not sure why this is happening but unlikely due to cleaning unless something went terribly wrong during the cleaning.

It may be due to cervical decay (decay near gum line), especially if professional clean ing are few and far between. It may be due to malocclusion (bad bite) causing abfractions, gum line fractures because of stress to the enamel. It may be due to acidic diet, Gerd, eating disorder, pernicious habits, and other reasons. If your Dentist unable to help, seek a second opinion.
