It sounds normal: Without seeing them it is difficult to know for sure, however, what you describe sounds like normal anatomy. If your gums have an "orange peel" look to them, it's called stippling. The appearance is due to the way in which the gums attach to the underlying structures. If you are still unsure, see a periodontist.
