Bilateral salpingectomy as a contraceptive method is virtually 100% effective, conception will not happen so there should be no pregnancy, normal or ectopic. However, there are extremely rare case reports of ectopic pregnancy after bilateral salpingectomy.

It almost always eliminates the ectopic pregnancy occurrence with one exception. If the Fallopian tube post surgical stumps are not properly closed then an abdominal pregnancy or Fallopian tube stump pregnancy (ectopic) can still occur if sperm can pass through into the stump or abdomen..
