A member asked:

Is heavy bleeding after emergency laparoscopic left salpingectomy for ruptured ectopic pregnancy anything to be concerned about?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ectopic: bleeding: An ectopic (tubal) pregnancy produces extra hormones which make the lining of the uterus thicken, so when the pregnancy is removed, the lining will continue to bleed until the accumulated lining has been shed. Ask your gyn surgeon to start you on low dose oral contraception (if there are no contraindications). If the bleeding continues, see your physician for an exam.
