Gout does not cause kidney stone but high serum uric acid (hyperuricemia) can cause both gout and uric acid stone. So if you have gout it does not mean you will have uric acid stone but you are at high risk of having it than a person without gout. Most kidney stones are calcium oxalate stones. Not do all patients with uric acid stone have uric acid crystals observed in urine by microscopic study.

Yes iy can. UA uric acid does not need to be high for stones. Drink plenty of water, fruit juices, keep gout under control and if you pass a stone have it analyzed. Good luck.
