A member asked:

Good evening doctors. can asymptomatic peripheral horseshoe tears heal on their own? if the tear got worse, how much time or leeway is there between a horseshoe tear and a retinal detachment..would i call the retinal ophthalmologist or emergency 911?

I answered your question previously. Hosptal ER does not take care this specific problem. If you become symptomatic and I assume you were provided such information after the diagnosis had been made, you notify the retina specialist right away, not 911.
