A member asked:

Very good evening doctors. i have two asymptomatic horseshoe tears in my right eye. both my ophthalmologist and the vitreo-retinal specialist said that i did not need laser..why would they say to wait and see rather than do laser? could they worsen?

By UPTODATE: "For patients with asymptomatic retinal breaks, close follow-up or retinopexy treatment, with either laser or cryopexy, are both reasonable options." Eye procedure may have side effects so observation could be a good option. You need to follow with the retina specially closely as advised and notify the doctor right away when you experience symptoms (flashing, heavy floater and veil).
