Definitely Anxiety can exacerbate Hypertension but current BP readings do indicate that one actually has Hypertension. And this should be treated appropriately along with Diet and necessary Lifestyle changes if indicated.

Low salt diet, reduced calories intake with increased exercise to bring BMI down at least below 30 in the next 3 months. After 3 months if your systolic pressure is still above 140 and/or diastolic pressure is above 90, you need to be started on antihypertensive medication(s).
