Autism has been known to regress after general anesthesia. If anesthesia is required in the future, notify the entire medical team including the anesthesiologist preoperatively of the patient's poor response to anesthesia.

It is hard to answer without the specific symptoms you are referring to, or the severity of autism problems generally. Surgery takes a a period of healing. Please review your recovery with your surgeon if there are sleep, pain, mood or safety issues. Best wishes for your recovery.
