A 40-year-old male asked:

Whoa: Jumping at a weight of 250 pounds translated to 500 # of force through the knee. This is not a good idea. When you get your weight down to normal there is less concern. Weight training to build muscle will help strength and weight loss. Jumping may be added for sports specific training, or for agility, but not for weight loss. A 52-year-old male asked:

Unlikely: The next question you should ask your Surgeon is Why did this happen, and what changes can you make in your activities to avoid recurrence in the future. Chose surgery with your eyes wide open. If you are limited by the elbow, it can affect Shoulder, Nerve, Wrist and Hand. A Physical Medicine physician can assist with non-surgical options for the big picture.
A 36-year-old female asked:

Get going: If you have a history of an internal knee injury, and the symptoms return, you need an examination and review of your care. If you have gained 15# after your last knee injury, your gait has changed, and your physician's recommendations may change accordingly. Physical Therapy may be helpful. Good luck.
