My dr gave me albuterol when diagnosed with atelectasis 10 days ago. i have not used it yet. i feel like i have pleurisy. should i use the albuterol? i'm kind of afraid to use it for the first time ever?

I answered your question earlier this week. Albuterol is not used for atelectasis unless you have underlying diseases such as bronchial asthma or chronic bronchitis. Albuterol is not used for pleurisy. However, albuterol solution for nebulizer or oral albuterol tablet is safe to use, the common side effects are tachycardia, palpitation and tremor.

Understandable anxiety around using an inhaler for the first time. Best would be to ask for help at your prescribers office where you can take the inhaler and use it there being supervised by medical staff. If that has to do mostly with you trying to reconcile the diagnosis with the reason for why using inhaler, your doc will be able to clarify reasoning and expectations in proper clinical context
