Very good evening doctors. i may be having functional endoscopic sinus surgery for complete opacification of the left frontal sinus. will i lose my sense of smell & taste, either temporarily or permanently? what is the recovery process like/how long?

No you will not. Recovery from surgery depends on the nature and extent of it and you should ask your surgeon and he/she should explain it. When you see a doctor re surgery always ask these questions for your peace of mind and to be able to make an educated decision re. surgery.
