You did the right thing by stopping to smoke. Your bilirubin levels if not normalzed soon will need testing for liver and gall bladder related reasons.

How elevated? All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, you may need to repeat the test to see if it is stable or changing. If liver disease is suspected your doctor can test for that.
