Sometimes: Smoking causes constriction of arteries and can raise blood pressure. If your doctor has titrated your medication to your blood pressure while you are smoking, it is possible that stopping smoking (or losing weight, or decreasing stress) might result in those medications being too strong for you now. Talk to your doctor about it, and congrats on quitting smoking, the single best thing you can do.
