53 yr. old husband's psa went from 5.3 to 1.9 after 1 month on flomax. free psa test results not back yet. does flomax reduce psa? does psa decrease mean bph and cancer scare is over? his dre was good - no nodules just slight enlarged prostate?

One possibility is that there was an element of prostate infection (prostatitis) which resolved when obstruction was alleviated with Flomax.

I. Psa test can vary depending on many things. 2 Flomax has no affect on PSA.
