Uterine fibroids are abnormal growths that can be caused by benign or not benign cell proliferation. (malignant ones are rare- 1%) The biopsy will determine if it is benign. Your Gynecological Dr will determine if the fibroids need to be removed (if you have frequent heavy bleeding, pain) or if they just need to be monitored over time.
